About the composer

Ievgen Suiunov is a composer and pianist, a laureate of international competitions and the author of musical works in various genres. In open biographical sources, his name is associated with the classical composition school, while the published catalog shows a much broader range of creative expression.

In 2021 he completed postgraduate assistantship training in the Art of Composition at the Donetsk State Music Academy named after S. S. Prokofiev, in the class of Professor Alexander Nikolaevich Rudyansky. That school is audible in his ability to build form, work with timbre and sustain musical dramaturgy on a large scale.

Alongside the orchestral and chamber lines, the composer has a clearly expressed jazz direction. It appears in concert pieces, piano editions and the album The Flower of Hope, where melodic lyricism and rhythmic freedom become part of a coherent artistic language.

Three pillars of the creative world

Orchestral dramaturgy

Suiunov’s large works reveal a drive toward extended form, a strong soloistic gesture and attention to the orchestral palette. This is especially clear in PHOENIX and Fantasy Poem.

Chamber and choral lyricism

Ensemble scores, music for choir and vocal cycles show another side of the composer — more concentrated, subtle and closely linked to the intonation of the word.

Jazz freedom

Jazz language enters the composer’s voice naturally: through ballad writing, blues, Latin rhythm, piano texture and ensemble improvisational energy.
